Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2026: phased changes

Government Information Service, 29 September 2026. Some recently increased road traffic penalties already apply. Other measures are scheduled later: possession of a digital driving licence from January 2027; online payment of fines, announced for 30 October and subject to proclamation; and vehicle seizure and Safe City enforcement at a later stage. Exact commencement dates for the remaining provisions are not yet confirmed — check the official source.
